Maine State Police – Troop F’s weekly incident report…

09/02 – Troopers Flynn and Casavant assisted Washburn PD with a domestic. The intoxicated male was arrested after assaulting family members.

09/02 - Tr. Michaud responded to Connor where a passerby reported finding an unresponsive female in a ditch. Approximately 10 minutes later the Houlton RCC started receiving 9-1-1 calls reporting a naked female running in and out of traffic and fighting with paramedics. Tr. Michaud arrived on scene, and after a lengthy struggle with the female, he and paramedics were able to get the female into protective custody. The female remained uncontrollable until she arrived at the hospital where she was sedated. It appears as though the female overdosed on a combination of alcohol, and some sort of drug; possibly bath salts. The female was flown to EMMC for treatment and remains there in the intensive care unit.

09/03 - Troopers Flynn and Casavant responded to the Cottage Rd in Portage to assist Ashland Ambulance with a 26 year old male who overdosed and was making suicidal statements. The male had a history of violence, but was cooperative and agreed to go to the hospital voluntarily.

09/04 - Tr. Sylvia responded to the Hemore Rd in Ludlow for a report of a 3 year old with Down Syndrome missing from her residence and a white car was seen speeding off at the same time towards Houlton. Houlton PD was notified to look for the vehicle, but moments later the child was found safe near her residence.

09/04 - Tr. Flynn investigated an attempted burglary on the Portage Rd in Portage. A neighbor arrived to mow the lawn and apparently scared the intruder off, but entry had been made. Tr. Flynn put out a bolo for a vehicle seen by witnesses and it was located on 09/05 by Tr. Sylvia on Route 11. The operator is a brother to the owner of the residence and claimed to have permission to access the property. The investigation is ongoing.

09/04 - Tr. Sylvia investigated an attempted burglary at the Ludlow Town Office. Someone tried to gain entry by prying the door open causing a small amount of damage. The clerk requested extra patrols in the area and the investigation is ongoing.

09/05 - Troopers Saucier attended an annual DRE update training at the MCJA and Tr. Flynn assisted with Motor Vehicle Law Instruction for the BLETP.

09/06 - Tr. Monahan responded to Mars Hill for report of a domestic assault. Husband and wife had been arguing about money and impending divorce and during argument the male shoved and tackled the female preventing her from leaving. The male also threatened the female with a knife and broke the phones when she tried to call the police. Male fled the residence on foot after the assault, and attempts to locate him were fruitless. Warrant has been issued for his arrest for domestic assault, criminal threatening, VCR and preventing report of a crime.

09/06 – Tr. Cyr responded to a serious personal injury crash involving two motorcycles on Rt. 1 in Frenchville. A 52 year old Casco man was turning left on his Harley Davidson when he was struck from behind by a 66 year old Gorham man also riding a Harley Davidson. Both were thrown from their motorcycles and neither man was wearing a helmet. The Casco man was treated and released at the Fort Kent hospital. The Gorham man was transferred to EMMC in Bangor and is in stable condition. The crash was reconstructed by Warden Ryan Fitzpatrick.

During a recent detail in Troop F, Sgt. Bustard used his eagle eyes and years of experience to spot this high quality fraudulent inspection sticker. The operator was summonsed.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. In addition, the Troop patrols Interstate 95 from Sherman to the Canadian border in Houlton.
