These volunteers will work as a team to review and evaluate Community Impact Investment applications from County-based health and human service agencies.

These volunteers will be identifying and recommending funding levels for programs that are meeting our County's most crucial needs.  The Task Force will meet two times, once for an organizational meeting on March 7th at 3:00 pm at the United Way office at 830 Main Street at the Aroostook Centre Mall, Presque Isle and one all-day session, which will be determined at the first meeting by those who are on the committee.

This “citizen review process” is very thorough in determining the best use of the dollars raised by United Way of Aroostook. The agencies and programs that apply for United Way of Aroostook funding are required to identify specific uses for funding as well as long term sustainability efforts of programming, both of which will work towards leading individuals to self-sufficiency.

“People making donations to United Way of Aroostook can be assured their contributions are being used here in Aroostook County, doing the most for those people who really need help,” says Wanda Guiggey, Chair of the Community Investment Committee.

Anyone with questions about United Way of Aroostook or who is interested in volunteering for the Fund Distribution Task Force should contact Sherry Locke, Executive Director, at the United Way of Aroostook at 764‑5197.
