RCMP have arrested a suspect in an armed robbery last week at the Scotiabank on St. George Street in Moncton.

Police said shortly after noon Tuesday, a man entered the bank, armed with a weapon, and demanded money from the tellers. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A warrant was issued for 32-year-old Troy Faye of Moncton.  Following his arrest, Faye was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on  Monday at 9:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Harry Brown of the Codiac Regional RCMP.

Faye will face charges of armed robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.
