32-Year-Old Man Arrested after Trying to Rob Post Office in Maine
A 32-year-old man was arrested Monday after trying to rob a post office on Forest Avenue in Portland.
Man “Demanded Register be Opened”
The Portland Police Department said Jacobie Jefferson “approached the counter and demanded the register be opened and told the clerk he would shoot them. The clerk refused to open the register and the man quickly departed with further threats.”
Cumberland County Jail
Apprehended after Fleeing in Park
Jefferson was located in Deering Oaks Park and taken into custody.
Multiple Charges
He was charged with Robbery, Criminal Threatening, Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, Indecent Conduct, Violating Conditions of Release, while also having an outstanding warrant.
Taken to Jail
Jefferson was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
