Susan Collins Breaks Ankle on Ice in Maine
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins is recovering from a broken ankle from a fall outside her Maine home. Collins said she slipped and fell on the ice, breaking her ankle in two places.
Collins, who turned 64 on December 7, underwent surgery at a hospital in Bangor.
Her spokesperson Annie Clark says Senator Collins will be back in Washington for Jan. 3 votes. The Aroostook County native has long made it a priority to never miss votes.
Collins grew up in Caribou and has a home in Bangor.
