RCMP Identify Victim of Motel Fire in Western N.B.
The RCMP have confirmed the identity of the victim of a fatal fire at a motel in the Woodstock area last month, as a 45-year-old woman from Limestone, New Brunswick.
West District RCMP and the Woodstock Fire Department were called to John Gyles Music Room and Inn in Hay Settlement at around 4 a.m. on August 30, where a body was discovered in the debris.
Police say the fire destroyed the office, restaurant and bar area of the motel. There were over 20 people in the building at the time of the blaze.
According to the Woodstock RCMP, the preliminary results of the autopsy have not revealed anything suspicious in the woman's death.
While the exact cause of the fire is still being investigated, RCMP say it does not appear to be criminal in nature. The woman's identity was not released to the public.
