PIPD says the app is now available on Android phones and Apple iOS phones. It is free to download and can be found by searching your app store for the Presque Isle Police Department.

The app provides two-way communication between citizens and the PIPD. Smartphone users are able to report suspicious activity, view the sex offender database, wanted people in Presque Isle, crime mapping information, as well as take advantage of a variety of other features.

It also allows Presque Isle police to push out important information to the public such as AMBER alert info, road closures, and any other information of immediate interest.

Chief Irwin says the cost was approximately $1,300. But he said, “The good news is it was bought and paid for through funds seized from our local drug dealers...there was no cost to the taxpayer.”
