MDEA Makes Arrest in Oakfield Meth Case [UPDATE]
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has arrested a woman in connection with the manufacture of methamphetamine in the Southern Aroostook County town of Oakfield.
According to the MDEA, 29-year-old Crystal Hitchcock has been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and endangering the welfare of a child. MDEA Agents took Hitchcock into custody late Tuesday at a camper trailer on the Thompson Settlement Road in Oakfield. A toddler was also present and Department of Health and Human Services was called in to address that issue.
Drug Agents, Sheriff's Deputies and State Troopers secured a camper overnight after finding evidence of a meth lab. Early Wednesday, MDEA's lab team executed a search warrant, seizing precursor drugs, chemicals and other materials used to make methamphetamine. Maine DEP and the Oakfield Fire Department assisted at the scene.
This is the fifth Meth lab uncovered in Maine this year.
