
Man Died and Two Children Injured after Crash in Maine
A 27-year-old man died Saturday and two children were injured after a single-vehicle crash in Littleton.
Vehicle Crashed into Pond
The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office said Jesse Surtevant was driving on Route 1 when the vehicle left the road and came to rest in a pond.
Good Samaritans Jumped in Pond to Help
“Several good samaritans passing by jumped into the pond pulling Mr. Surtevant along with a 7-year-old female, and 3-year-old male from the vehicle,” said Aroostook County Sheriff Peter A Johnson.
Man Died at the Scene and Children Taken to Hospital
Sturtevant was pronounced dead at the scene. The children were taken to Houlton Regional Hospital by Southern Aroostook Ambulance.
Ongoing Crash Investigation
The crash is under investigation. Assisting the Sheriff's Office was the Littleton Fire Department.
