
Two Charged with Drug Possession with 5-Year-Old in Car in Maine
A 48-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were arrested and charged with drug possession after a vehicle search in Brewer.
Man, Woman and 5-Year-Old Child in Vehicle
The Brewer Police Department said Richard Newell and Amanda Brothers, both from Old Town, were taken into custody. A 5-year-old was also in the car.
Parked After Hours
The vehicle was searched after officers saw them parked at Indian Trail Park after hours.
Woman Tried to Hide Drugs in Child’s Car Seat
Police seized crack during the search. “Brothers attempted to conceal drug paraphernalia in the child’s car seat,” said Brewer PD.
Multiple Charges
Brothers was charged with Unlawful Drug Possession, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Falsifying Physical Evidence. Newell faces charges for Unlawful Drug Possession.
Child Taken to DHHS
They were taken to the Penobscot County Jail. The child was transported to DHHS.
