Two people were seriously injured Wednesday morning after three vehicles crashed on I-95 in Veazie.
Hood Unlatched on Interstate and Blocked View
The Maine State Police said 21-year-old Coby Tear from Greenbush crashed after “the hood unlatched and flew up,” blocking his view of the road. He “braked hard and attempted to pull over to the median.”
Second Vehicle Rear-Ended First Vehicle
A Toyota Rav4 was behind him and unable to stop in time before colliding with Tear’s vehicle. The driver was transported to Northern Light EMMC with injuries. Tear was not injured.
Third Vehicle Crashed in Woods
A Subaru Forester also tried to avoid the crash and left the road and went into the woods. The driver was taken to the hospital with injuries and was later released.

I-95 in the area was closed for several hours as the crash was investigated and reconstructed.
