Mall Manager Recognized for Community Spark
The United Way of Aroostook announced Patti Crooks as the recipient of its Community Spark Award.
Crooks, who has been the manager of the Aroostook Centre Mall since 1995, has been a Leadership donor and long-time supporter of the United Way of Aroostook. She has been a CA$H Coalition Volunteer Tax Preparer, a former United Way Board Member and Campaign Chair of the Allocations Task Force. She was also instrumental in the formation of the Book Nook, a used bookstore that supports United Way’s early literacy program. Crooks has also put her time and efforts into the Santa’s Sleigh Project and the Giving Tree, which allows donors to help the community by supporting the work of United Way of Aroostook.
Wanda Guiggey, President of the UWA Board, said the directors were happy to honor Crooks for her energy and dedication. "On behalf of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Aroostook, we cannot thank Patti enough for all she has done for us. She has been a great partner to the United Way of Aroostook over the years and has gone above and beyond to help us to do our great work in the community."
Patti stated she was "honored, touched and incredibly humbled" by the award. "The personal responsibility of giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate was instilled in me at a very tender age."
