Maine Man Killed at Estranged Wife’s Home
CORINTH, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police are investigating the death of a man who was killed at his estranged wife's home in a confrontation with another man.
Police say 37-year-old Christopher Darner of Corinth was killed about 2:30 a.m. Sunday after entering a home in Corinth occupied by 22-year-old Miranda Darner. Authorities say the Darners were separated and that she had a protection order issued against her husband.
Police say Darner was killed during the incident and that 24-year-old Kirt Damon Jr. of Searsport was treated for stab wounds at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Officials say Damon and 21-year-old Zachary Joseph of Belfast, who was also in the home, were friends of Miranda Darner.
Spokesman Steve McCausland said additional details will be released following an autopsy on Monday.
