A fire destroyed a home Saturday night on Martin Stream Road in Fairfield.

No Injuries after House Fire

The Fairfield Fire Department said no one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

Preliminary Findings: Electrical Malfunction

“Preliminary findings indicate the fire likely originated from an electrical malfunction located within the ceiling structure or wall of the home’s addition,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Ongoing Fire Investigation

The fire started around 9 pm. The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.

Officials Responded Promptly

“Investigators happened to be passing through the area when the call for service came in and were able to respond promptly,” said Public Safety officials.
