Music lovers united! The Fiddlers and Fiddlehead Fest is coming to the Patten Lumbermen's Museum in Patten on Saturday, May 16th from noon to 5 p.m.

This year, join the Patten Lumbermen's Museum in Patten for an afternoon of music, food, crafts and activities. From Canada to the Mid-Coast of Maine, musicians and music lovers will gather to celebrate the signs of spring, the Fiddlehead and some great outdoor Fiddling.

The Fiddlers and Fiddlehead Fest will also be making some additions. Donations will benefit the Museum’s Endowment Fund.

Food venues will all be sponsored by local non-profits for their own individual fund raising. Local Crafters will be demonstrating and selling their crafts. The Maine Forest Services will join us with some of their “Friends” and “Enemies” for the younger attendees along with one of their firetrucks.

Old time activities and games will also be available including the promise of a clogging lesson or two. If you have a favorite Fiddlehead Recipe, bring it prepared, along with a written recipe to enter into our Cast Iron Chef Fiddlehead Cook Off. Two recipes and their chefs will be chosen by local judges to “Cook Off” for the title of Cast Iron Chef 2015. Cook Off is around 2 p.m.

The museum will be open throughout the afternoon for formal and informal tours. It is a treasure in the midst of the Maine North Woods and not to be missed.

Admission is by donation only. This event is rain or shine. Bring your own chair. On site contained camping may be available weather dependent.

Anyone interested in getting involved as a local non-profit fundraiser, local crafter, member of the press, or volunteer should contact lunksoos@gmail.com or rbrophy@fairpoint.net 207-852-1291 or 207-528-2650 prior to May 14th.
