The Presque Isle Elks Lodge #1954, has again extended an invitation to anyone who would otherwise be celebrating Christmas Day alone to join the Elks family on Christmas Day.

The fraternal organization will be serving a traditional, five-course, Christmas dinner at their lodge located at 508 Main Street in Presque Isle. The Elks started this Family Christmas Dinner back in 2005 and is now an annual tradition.

The entire meal, entertainment, and parting gifts, are free of charge.  Transportation both to and from the Lodge can also be provided.

This year, the Presque Isle Elks plan on serving over two hundred people. Besides plenty of turkey and ham gathered by co-chairman Dana Dickinson, the Northeastland Hotel will be preparing its wonderful tomato bisque soup and Governor's Restaurant will be baking dinner rolls and pies for the dinner. Side dishes include mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, squash and a vegetable medley.

Doors will open to the public at 10:30 a.m. on Christmas morning.  Hors d’oeuvres will be served beginning at 11:00 a.m.”

Live musical entertainment will again add merriment to this Christmas event. Wendell Hudson, Dale Hudson, Leland Clark, and James “Sheldon” Wright will be returning to the Elks Lodge on Christmas Day for the fourteenth consecutive year.

At noon the traditional, five-course, sit-down, Christmas dinner will begin being served.

“To anyone who would otherwise be spending Christmas alone, I not only invite you to attend the Presque Isle Elks Family Christmas Dinner, I encourage you to do so,” said Exalted Ruler Tai Ireland.

Transportation to and from the Elks Lodge can be arranged by calling the Elks Lodge at 764-0985.  People needing transportation are encouraged to  make reservations with the Elks before December 24.
