Devers Homers, Sox Win [VIDEO]

Rookie Rafael Devers made his first MLB hit a home run and Chris Sale was superb again on the hill as the Red Sox beat the Seattle Mariners Thursday 4-0. The Sox four game losing streak is over as the final west coast roadtrip ends.

Devers became the youngest Sox player to homer since Tony Conigliaro in September of 1965. The 20-year-old also had a single in his second big league game.

Meanwhile, Chris Sale was the ace and slump-buster that the Sox needed. Seven innings of work, 11 strikeouts, just three hits and one walk. Sale is now 13-4 with an ERA of 2.37.

Craig Kimbrel picked up his 25th save.

The Sox stay one game ahead of the Yankees for first place in the AL East.

This is a day off for the team before opening up a home weekend series Friday night against Kansas City.
