Bangor’s Holiday Tree’s Been Hoisted Into Position; Lighting This Weekend
The 2023 Downtown Bangor Holiday Tree has been hoisted into position in Westmarket Square where it will wait patiently for the official tree lighting ceremony scheduled to take place this coming weekend.
Standing in the same spot for decades, the raising of Downtown's holiday tree is a bit of an unofficial start to the Christmas Season in Bangor.
Under the watchful eye of another familiar holiday sight (Rudolph), the tree went up Tuesday for all to see.
According to the Downtown Bangor Facebook Page, some familiar players were once again involved in getting the tree transported, put up, and decorated for the occasion.
"This year they are joined by Frazier Signal Technologies in the multi-bucket truck light stringing extravaganza. Thank you to Dan Sprague who has been combing the countryside and picking the perfect tree for the last 25 years and to Hartt’s Electric who helped harvest and raise the tree."
The official Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place downtown directly following this weekend's Rotary Club of Bangor, Maine Festival of Lights parade on Saturday, December 2nd!
The Festival of Lights Parade will kick off Saturday at 4:30 PM, and make its way from Brewer, across the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge into Downtown Bangor, finishing down by Davenport Park.
