A lot has been done in the past decade to beautify Bangor. From planting trees, to reworking certain sidewalks and roads, City officials have teamed up with local organizations and artists to breathe new life into some of Bangor's bigger and smaller spaces.

One of the ways in which this has been done is through the creation of many different murals. Some of them are enormous, spanning the length of entire buildings, or across multiple roadways in town.

Others are slightly smaller, and take a little effort to find.

All of them add a splash of color and an 'element of interesting' to the fabric of the Downtown area.

A few of them celebrate some of the things that grow and live in nature within Maine's local ecosystem.

A few of them celebrate important or iconic Maine figures, who have shaped the state and helped put it on the map.

All of them hope to inspire those who admire these murals, to appreciate the world around them and leave it a better place than we have found it.
