Court records stated that in August 2014, 41-year-old Robert Kinney, Jr. emailed at least nine videos and 15 images of child pornography as he traded with others over the internet.

In September, members of the State Police Computer Crimes Unit arrested Kinney at his home in Blaine, where he lived with his wife and two children. Investigators searched Kinney’s electronic devices and found photos of infants being molested.

Kinney had previously pleaded not guilty in March, but changed his plea as part of a deal in which two other charges of receiving and possessing child pornography were dismissed.

He faces between five and 20 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to a lifetime of supervised release. A sentencing date has not yet been determined.

The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Maine State Police.
