
20-Year-Old Man Charged with Stabbing & Stealing Truck in Maine
A 20-year-old man was arrested Sunday and charged with assault, eluding an officer and OUI after stabbing an 18-year-old and stealing a truck.
Stabbing Suspect Stole Truck and Eluded Police
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said Payton Hamilton from Poland was charged with stealing a Ford F150 on Minot Road after stabbing a man in West Minot.
Fled Police and Crashed Stolen Truck
When officers located Hamilton in the stolen truck, he fled from police. He then crashed into a utility pole on Robinson Hill Road in Oxford and was taken into custody around 4:56 am.
Victim Reported Stabbing
Around 10 am, an 18-year-old reported to police that he was stabbed. The Sheriff’s Office said “Hamilton had stabbed the victim prior to stealing the truck.” The two men knew each other.
Multiple Charges
Hamilton was charged with eluding an officer, OUI (alcohol) refusal, theft by unauthorized taking, burglary, aggravated assault and violation of conditions of release.
Taken to Hospital and Jail
He was taken to the hospital and then transported to the Androscoggin County Jail with bail set at $50,000 cash.
