Man Charged with Slashing Victim at the Base of Skull in Maine

A 57-year-old man was arrested Thursday night and charged with slashing another man with a knife in Portland.

The Portland Police Department said Jay Larose approached a 56-year-old man from behind and slashed him at the base of his skull.

Larose was taken into custody and charged with Elevated Aggravated Assault.

The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center with a slashing wound. Police said his injury was non-life threatening.
