On Monday evening, 18-year-old Aalaya Walker was visiting her friend, 25-year-old Javarski Sandy when she decided to heat up some waffles.

What she didn't know was that the oven was where her friend had hidden the magazine from his .45-caliber Glock 21 pistol.

When the oven heated up, the high capacity magazine exploded, sending fragments of shell casings into Miss Walker’s chest and leg. According to the Tampa Bay Times, Walker took the bus to a nearby hospital.

Sandy told police who showed up at his house to investigate that there were four rounds in the magazine. The handgun itself was stored in a drawer.

An officer wrote in his report, "I observed that the inside of the oven was damaged."

Police described Miss Walker's wounds as superficial.  Since stupidity is apparently not a crime in Florida, Sandy was not charged.
