Young Family Displaced By Fire in Northwest New Brunswick
A weekend house fire displaced a young family of three near Saint-François-de-Madawaska in the northwest corner of New Brunswick.
Firefighters from Saint-François-de-Madawaska and Clair responded to the blaze on Highway 215 shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday. The RCMP and NB Power crews were also on scene and the road was shut down for over two hours.
Dan Bedell of the Canadian Red Cross said the couple and their 4-year-old son were away at time so there were no injuries from the fire. The cause is under investigation
The Red Cross was helping with emergency purchases including food. The family is staying with relatives while awaiting an assessment from insurers.
