Woman Suffers Severe Injuries in Presque Isle Crash
A Presque Isle woman remains at a Bangor hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision Saturday morning on the State Road in Presque Isle.
The Presque Isle Police Department received a 9-1-1 call concerning the accident shortly after 10 a.m. Police say a car was pulling out of the driveway at 184 State Road when it was struck by an SUV heading from Mapleton to Presque Isle.
The driver of the car, 60-year-old Patsy Carlson, was extricated from the vehicle by Presque Fire & Ambulance and was taken to The Aroostook Medical Center with severe injuries, police say. Carlson was later transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Presque Isle Police say 36-year-old Haley Kelley of Mapleton, who was driving the SUV, and her three young children were not injured in the crash.
The State Road was closed for several hours Saturday while investigators reconstructed the accident. The investigation continues.
