New Brunswick Woman Rescued from Fire Remains in Hospital
We have a good report on a woman who was found unconscious in a burning apartment building in Fredericton early Sunday.
Tori McCarthy, who was airlifted to a Halifax hospital suffering from severe smoke inhalation, is now reported to be breathing on her own. Fredericton firefighters rescued McCarthy and two others from the blaze .
Nine other tenants managed to escape on their own, but most lost all of their belongings. Investigators believe the fire at the two-story apartment house on Charlotte Street was caused by smoking materials which ignited an upholstered chair.
