Four people were injured including three children after a school bus was hit head-on by an SUV in Belfast.

SUV Crossed Centerline and Hit Bus Head-On

The crash happened Thursday on Lincolnville Avenue involving a Regional School Unit 71 bus. The SUV crossed the centerline and the vehicles collided, said police.

Three Children and Adult Taken to Hospital

Injured were two children on the bus, the 68-year-old SUV driver and a child in the SUV. They were all taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Students Taken to School

Officials said 22 students were transported to the school after evaluations from EMS on the scene.

Families Notified

The students’ parents and guardians were contacted directly by school personnel, said WMTW News.

Road Closed and Investigation

The road was closed in the area until the scene was cleared. The investigation is ongoing.
