
Two Felons Crashed Stolen Vehicle & Fled from Police in Maine
A 40-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle into a minivan and fleeing from police in Rumford.
Extensive Criminal Backgrounds
Luis Alberto Rivera Jr. and Troy James Blanchard were taken into custody Wednesday morning. Both men are convicted felons and have an extensive history of violent crime.
Crashed Stolen Vehicle into Minivan
The Rumford Police Department said the two men stole a Chrysler 200. A relative of the victim chased them in a minivan. Rivera and Blanchard crashed the stolen vehicle into the minivan.
Fled on Foot and Arrested
They then fled on foot to a nearby apartment building. Police apprehended the two men and transported them to the Oxford County Jail, said WGME News.
Daycare and School Near Incident
The crash happened near a daycare and elementary school with kids present, said Rumford PD.
First Man Charged
Rivera faces charges for felony theft of a motor vehicle, felony aggravated criminal mischief, terrorizing, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, and violation of conditions of release.
Second Man Charged
Blanchard is also facing charges for felony theft of a motor vehicle, felony aggravated criminal mischief, and refusing to submit to arrest or detention.
