Shawn Beaulieu, 44 of Caribou, was driving westbound onto the Beaulieu Road in a 1994 Freightliner bulk truck loaded with potatoes. He lost control, rolled the vehicle on its side and the load spilled onto the roadway and into the ditch, according to Sgt. Matt Cummings who investigated the scene.

Beaulieu suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Cary Medical Center in Caribou by Caribou Fire and Ambulance. The truck, which is owned by Landeen Farms of New Sweden, sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, speed appears to be a contributing factor. The Beaulieu Road was closed for about two hours while crews removed the vehicle and debris from the roadway.
