Sept. 22 - Trooper Darcy responded to a single vehicle crash in Littleton. While investigating the crash Trooper Darcy observed the male operator having trouble keeping his balance. Trooper Darcy did not detect the odor of intoxicating liquors but felt something was wrong. The male performed very poorly on field sobriety. Trooper Darcy brought the male to Presque Isle to see a Drug Recognition Expert. As a result of the DRE test, Trooper Darcy charged the male with Operating under the Influence of Drugs.

Sept. 22 - Trooper Bell responded to a crash where a vehicle’s wheel came off and struck another parked vehicle. Upon investigation, Trooper Bell discovered that the driver did not have a license from any state. Trooper Bell summonsed the driver for Operating without a License.

Sept. 23 - Trooper Marquis charged a 40-year-old Pennsylvania woman with OAS after she was found to be driving during an interaction with Border Patrol Agents.

Sept. 23 - Trooper Clark and Trooper Lilley responded to a Domestic Violence assault in Hodgdon. A 23-year-old male had assaulted his father because he could not find his car keys. The son punched holes in the walls and sent a threatening text message to his family stating that if he didn’t have his keys returned he would butcher his whole family. Trooper Lilley and Trooper Clark located the male at a neighbor’s residence and he was taken into custody. The male was charged with DV assault, DV terrorizing, and criminal mischief. The 23-year-old male was denied bail.

Sept. 24-26 - Trooper Casavant attended 3 days of training with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for the Human Trafficking Task Force.

Sept. 26 - Trooper Monahan assisted Computer Crimes Task Force with executing a search warrant and arrest in Blaine. Subject was arrested by Detectives for possession  of child pornography. (Click here for more details.)

Sept. 27 - While on patrol in Ludlow, Trooper Bell noticed an elderly man getting attacked by a ram (yes, a male sheep named Stanley). The elderly man had been knocked down by the ram and was pinned against tree unable to get up as the ram was actively ramming the man with its head. Trooper Bell was able to place himself between the man and his ram to fend off the ram. Stanley continued to be aggressive toward Trooper Bell and the elderly man and Trooper Bell had to use his CapStun to keep Stanley away until two neighbors helped get the elderly man to his feet and to safety. The victim refused treatment and had several bumps and bruises from an earlier run-in with Stanley.

Sept. 27 – Trooper Monahan assisted US Border Patrol at a traffic stop when agents discovered three arrest warrants on the operator. Trooper Monahan arrested the operator on the warrants.

Sept. 28 - Trooper Darcy stopped a vehicle for failing to display a front registration plate. After speaking with the driver, Trooper Darcy detected the odor of intoxicating liquors. As a result of field sobriety tests, Trooper Darcy charged the Island Falls male with Operating under the Influence.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
