Sept. 15 - Trooper Marquis attended a day of mandatory Intoxilyzer Instructor training at the MCJA.

Sept. 16 - Sgt. Haines responded to Camden for a Tactical Team Activation.

Sept. 16 - Trooper Casavant investigated a computer fraud complaint in Littleton where a girl’s Facebook and other accounts were hacked into remotely and altered. The case remains under investigation.

Sept. 16 - Trooper Bell stopped a car in Hodgdon for failing to display an inspection sticker and front plate. The operator’s license was suspended for failure to pay fines. Trooper Bell issued the operator a VSAC.

Sept. 16 - Trooper Darcy arrested an Island Falls male on a warrant for failure to appear.

Sept. 16 & Sept. 18 - Trooper Whalen responded to the campus of NMCC twice this week for requests from Presque Isle Police Department  for a bomb sweep. Each time a threat of a bomb had been found at the campus. Trooper Whalen swept the area each time with his bomb K-9 Bailey but nothing suspicious was located. PIPD continues to investigate.

Sept. 17 - Trooper Sylvia responded to assist Houlton PD with a K-9 track for a male suspect they were chasing on foot. The male was soon located in a residence.

Sept. 18 & Sept. 20 - Trooper Levesque responded to the Stockholm cemetery twice in two days for reports of a burglary. On the first day tools were taken from a building at the cemetery and the following night a second building on the property was hit with additional tools being taken. Investigation is ongoing.

Sept. 19 - Trooper Lilley was on routine patrol and saw a male walking towards a parked car at a local business and knew the male was under suspension. Trooper Lilley watched the male drive off and stopped him, charging him with OAS for the second time.

Sept. 19 - Sgt. Fuller and Trooper Michaud responded to the North Maine Woods (T-10 R-15) for a plane crash. A single engine Cessna had crashed and the two occupants had managed to walk to a logging truck and used a radio to call for help. Wardens located the plane crash and assisted Sgt. Fuller and Trooper Michaud in getting to the scene and providing scene security. The occupants had only minor injuries and were treated and released from a Millinocket Hospital. Trooper Fiske of Troop E interviewed the occupants at the hospital. Investigation disclosed that the engine had stalled and would not restart during the flight. The pilot was attempting to land on a nearby lake, but without power he did his best to get the plane onto a logging road. The Crash is being investigated by FAA.

Sept. 20 - Trooper Darcy stopped a vehicle in Oakfield for having defective license plate lights. During the stop, Trooper Darcy detected the odor of marijuana. Neither the driver nor the passenger had medical marijuana cards. The male handed Trooper Darcy a baggy of marijuana. During the search of the vehicle Trooper Darcy also located a marijuana pipe with residue in it as well as two bottles of alcohol. Both occupants of the vehicle were underage. The female passenger claimed ownership of the alcohol. The marijuana, pipe, and alcohol were seized. Trooper Darcy charged the male with Possession of a Usable Amount of Marijuana and the female with Illegal Possession of Liquor by a Minor.

Sept. 20 – Trooper Bell received an anonymous text message regarding a possible underage drinking party. Trooper Bell was able to go to the residence, speak with several minors who had not been drinking, and speak with the homeowner who was not currently at the residence. The homeowner was unaware of the planned party, was very cooperative, and promised that no party would take place at his house. Trooper Bell advised the minors to alert all of their friends that he knew of the party and its location.

Sept. 21 - Trooper Clark and Trooper Michaud assisted Presque Isle Police Department  with a suicide where a male had hung himself in a garage.

Sept. 21 – Trooper Clark responded to the Beaver Brook Rd. in T-13 R-5 near Portage for a rollover accident with minor injury. Trooper Clark arrested the 20-year-old for OUI.

Sept. 21 – Trooper Clark responded to a motorcycle/SUV crash in Easton. The 18-year-old operator of the SUV turned into his driveway and did not see the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the SUV in the front passenger side. The two passengers on the motorcycle were thrown from the bike. Both were wearing helmets and were transported to the hospital. One of the passengers was subsequently transported to Bangor as a result of her injuries. Trooper Michaud and Sgt. Fuller assisted at the scene.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
