April 6 - Trooper Hafford responded to Caswell for an unattended death. A 69-year-old male passed away in the early morning hours and was discovered by his sister, there was nothing suspicious.

April 6 - Trooper Hafford responded to a late report of a crash in Perham. A jeep had driven into the rear of a log truck at 0645 in the morning and the crash was only reported at 1630hrs. After investigation, Trooper Hafford summonsed a 61-year-old male with failing to report a crash by quickest means. The male waited 10 hours to report this crash which totaled his vehicle. The driver of the log truck stated that he wanted to report the crash when it occurred, but the male did not want to report it.

April 6 – Trooper Hafford teamed with Fort Kent PD and Aroostook SO to investigate a string of burglaries which occurred overnight on April 5 and spanned several St. John Valley towns. As a result of the joint investigation, 4 males were charged with a variety of offenses and much of the stolen property was recovered.

April 6 - Trooper Quint and Trooper Sylvia responded to a residence in Littleton for a family fight, investigation revealed that two sisters were fighting over a TV remote and there hadn’t been an assault. While at the residence, it was discovered there were warrants for two other family members and they were arrested for the warrants.

April 7 - Trooper Hafford was called to a criminal trespass complaint in Frenchville. Tr. Hafford arrived and the female resident at the apartment denied that anyone was at her house. She allowed Tr. Hafford to look around in the apartment and Trooper Hafford found a 35-year-old male hiding in a closet. Tr. Hafford charged the male with criminal trespass in violation of a no trespass order.

April 8 - Trooper Sylvia investigated a theft in Mars Hill related to a man removing his vehicle from a tow station without paying his bill. The man was charged with theft.

April 8 - Trooper Saucier investigated a theft in Patten. The man was caught on video stealing cigarette lighters and will be charged for theft at the conclusion of the investigation.

April 8 - Trooper Sylvia investigated a lost or stolen iPad belonging to a Bridgewater man that was located in Texas. Texas authorities were called to assist and the case remains under investigation.

April 8 - Trooper Darcy charged a 30-year-old female from Crystal for operating with an expired license over 90 days as the result of a traffic stop in Patten.

April 8 - Trooper Darcy responded to the Southern Aroostook Community School in Dyer Brook for a report of a male with a pending protection order attempting to pick up his children. Troop E had been looking for the male in an attempt to serve him with a protection order on behalf of his wife and children. The principal of the school was aware of the situation and contacted the barracks in hopes that a Trooper would arrive to the school quickly as she feared the male was going to cause a scene. Tr. Darcy arrived at the school and served the protection order. The male was very upset but left the school without causing any issues.

April 9 - Trooper Casavant investigated a sex offender failing to maintain registry mandates, but the District Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute.

April 9 - Trooper Sylvia conducted a speaking engagement at Katahdin Valley High School.

April 9 & April 10 - Trooper Saucier provided instruction at the BLETP for Intoxilyzer operation and also completed his DRE re-certification.

April 10 - Detective Jeff Clark was on patrol in St. Agatha and located a large party at a residence on Brook Rd. in St. Agatha. During investigation, Det. Clark determined that the party was being attended by juveniles who had been drinking and several of the juveniles fled the residence as Det. Clark arrived. As a result of investigation, Det. Clark summonsed the homeowner, Brandon Couture, for providing a place for minors to consume alcohol and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor. A 15-year-old female from St. Agatha was also summonsed for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor. A significant amount of alcohol was seized from the residence and parents were called to the residence to retrieve their children.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
