A logging truck spilled it load in Southern Aroostook County Tuesday afternoon, closing down Route 2A for several hours. According to State Police Sergeant Brian Harris, the accident happened around 3:30 in Reed Plantation on what is known as Santa Claus Hill.

20-year-old Able Shaw of Chester, Maine was southbound in a 1994 Freightliner tractor trailer when he lost control on the hill. The rig rolled on its side spilling the load of logs in the roadway.  State troopers Chad Fuller and Carman Lilley responded to the accident.

The truck, owned by Delaite Trucking of Lincoln, sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene.  Route 2A was shut down for approximately 3 hours while the logs were cleared from the roadway and a damaged telephone pole was replaced.

Shaw was not hurt in the crash.
