Three Boys Injured in 4-Wheeler Crash in Caribou
Three boys were taken to the hospital after the UTV they were riding rolled over Thursday afternoon on the north end of Caribou.
Game wardens responded to the crash on the Bowles Road around 3 p.m.
Two 14-year-olds and a 4-year-old were transported to Cary Medical Center with various injuries.Wardens say the youngest boy had a laceration on his forehead and his older brother injured his elbow. The other 14-year-old broke his wrist, and received a significant cut on his face and a possible concussion.
Wardens say the driver apparently lost control of the four-wheeler while going downhill and the machine rolled over. None of the boys were wearing helmets, but they were wearing seat belts.
The UTV–a 2013 Can AM Maverick 1000–was owned by the grandfather of the two brothers. The crash remains under investigation.
