Werner Herzog was born to be a Star Wars villain. Yes, sure, he has made many other incredible movies as a director and documentarian. But listen to him talk about the title character of The Mandalorian. Listen to how he pronounces the word “parsec.” He’s perfect.

He’s one of the only voices you hear in the new trailer for The Mandalorian, which arrives just a few weeks ahead of the premiere episode’s debut on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+. Supposedly that episode contains some kind of huge Star Wars spoiler, but you won’t get a hint of it in this trailer, which is pretty vague with the details and focuses instead of how cool the Mandalorian (played by Pedro Pascal) is:

Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe.  “The Mandalorian” is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The first episode of The Mandalorian will be available at launch of Disney Plus on November 12. Disney’s already said there will be no screeners ahead of time, so don’t expect to see many plot details until then.
