Maine State Police – Troop F’s weekly incident report…

3/03 - Tr. Flynn and Sgt. Haines arrested a 33 year old Castle Hill man on 5 outstanding warrants for unpaid fines.

3/03 - Tr. Hafford responded to a complaint in Portage. Someone had entered a residence and taken items from inside the home and caused damage. They also cranked the heat on full and since no one had been living at the residence, the oil tank emptied, approximately ½ tank, which caused the pipes to freeze and bust. On March 6th Tr. Hafford charged a 33 year old female with theft and criminal mischief for the incident. More charges may be pending after review by the district attorney.

3/03 - Tr. Marquis, while doing follow-up on another case, dealt with a 21 year old Madawaska man who was intoxicated. Tr. Marquis later found out the man was on probation and both he and Madawaska PD forwarded reports to the Probation Officer who revoked the man’s probation and he will be returning to jail to serve his nine month sentence.

3/03 - Tr. Levesque responded to Chapman for report of a theft of large amount of tools and suspects were a male and female that had been squatting at the property and wouldn’t leave. After investigation and locating the suspects, the victim decided that he didn’t want to press charges and was going to work it out on his own. Tr. Levesque charged two males with alcohol and drug paraphernalia possession.

3/04 - Tr. Flynn and Sgt. Haines were called out to a domestic assault in E. Plantation. As a result of the investigation, a 28 year old man was arrested for outstanding warrants and the 55 year old female was arrested for domestic assault.

3/04 - Tr. Sylvia was called out to an unattended death in Haynesville. A visiting nurse was attending to a 54 year old man with deteriorating health problems when he passed away. The death was expected and not suspicious in nature.

3/04 - Tr. Saucier conducted follow-up on a recent metal theft case in Patten interviewing one of the suspects at the ACJ. The man has now been charged with two separate felony level thefts in the Patten area.

3/05 - Tr. Clark responded to a cellular 9-1-1 hang up call in Easton. The subscriber information showed the owner of the phone as belonging to a 44 year old female who lives in Easton. Tr. Clark responded to the residence and spoke with the female who indicated that she and her live-in boyfriend had an argument that had become physical. The female stated that she slapped her boyfriend with an open hand after he called her a name that she did not like. The boyfriend pushed her onto the couch and held her down. The female then punched him in the crotch, which is why he “fake dialed” 9-1-1. Both male and female were arrested and placed on bail to have no contact with one another.

3/06 - Tr. Whalen responded to Chapman for investigation of unattended death. 76 yr. old male died at home, recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure.

3/06 - Tr. Whalen served P.O on male subject in Castle Hill and then arrested subject on five outstanding warrants.

3/07 - Tr. Flynn served a protection order on a 38 year old Mapleton man and arrested him on outstanding warrants for unpaid fines.

3/07 - Tr. Quint and Tr. Ferland went to the Southern Aroostook Community School and spoke with elementary students on the importance of not drinking and driving. They talked with the students about not riding with people that had been drinking or doing drugs. The presentation was coupled with hands on activities.

3/07 – Tr. Clark displayed his cruiser for the Fort St. Elementary School in Mars Hill for their Winter Fest Carnival.

3/07 – While Tr. Clark was at the Winter Fest Carnival he was dispatched to Scovil Apartments across the street from the school, for a male subject that had entered an apartment and woke up the tenant. The female tenant is hearing impaired and described the male as being white, shaved head, and had blue eyes. Tr. Clark located a male standing in the parking lot and brought him to the scene were the tenant identified the male. The male was arrested for criminal trespass and VCR and transported to the ACJ. Tr. Quint and Sgt. Fuller along with K-9 Gleni assisted.

3/08 - Tr. Flynn arrested a Caswell woman on an outstanding warrant.

3/08 - Tr. Saucier investigated a theft of prescription pills in Patten and as a result the suspect in the case was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The case remains under investigation.

3/08 – Tr. Clark received a report of a theft of $13,000 dollars in cash from a safe. The money was kept in a locked safe inside a Mason jar. Tr. Clark interviewed the three people with potential access to the safe combination. The Mason jar contained nearly $16,000.00 and all was missing except $2350.00. The jar was seized for fingerprinting and all three parties have given their finger prints for comparison. All three have agreed to take a polygraph. The investigation continues.

 

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. In addition, the Troop patrols Interstate 95 from Sherman to the Canadian border in Houlton.
