Maine State Police – Troop F’s weekly incident report…

1/26 – Troopers Levesque and Michaud responded to a request to have a male removed from a residence in Woodland. After arriving, investigation revealed that there had been an earlier DV assault involving the male and his wife. Male was arrested by Tr. Levesque for DV assault

1/28 - Tr. Lilley arrested male subject in Houlton on 4 outstanding warrants on a variety of offenses including assault and refusing to submit to arrest.

1/29 - Tr. Whalen arrested a male from Perham while assisting PIPD with a DV assault and VCR violation. Male was transported to Caribou PD for the investigating PIPD officer.

1/29 - Tr. Monahan responded to Patten after a subject reported a male was in the area of his residence and suspected him of doing drugs. Operator of the vehicle was a male that we had been looking for in the past weeks for warrants. Tr. Monahan, assisted by Aroostook Dep. Palmer, located the vehicle in the area a short time later at a residence and arrested the male on the outstanding warrants.

1/29 and 1/30 - Tr. Sylvia provided one pot meth lab training to the Fort Fairfield Sector of Border Patrol.

1/30 - Tr. Casavant assisted Aroostook SO at a family fight that turned out to be an unfounded assault complaint. Earlier in the day the SO investigated a domestic assault at an adjacent residence involving the same family. On that case the female victim was held at knife point and the male subject held her there for several hours. He was arrested for kidnapping and various other charges.

1/30 – Tr. Ferland investigated a report of a possible suicide in the Island Falls area. A female reported receiving text messages from her ex-boyfriend shortly after she broke up with him. Tr. Ferland located the man and confirmed his texts were simply an effort to get his former girlfriend’s attention.

1/30 - Tr. Hafford was called to Long Lake in St. Agatha for a report of a person hitting an ice fishing cabin with a pickup, after which the operator left the scene. Tr. Hafford located the 22 year old male operator in Frenchville and summonsed him for leaving the scene of an accident.

1/31 - Tr. Flynn provided instruction to the BLETP on motor vehicle law.

1/31 Tr. Flynn responded to New Sweden for a suspicious vehicle/person complaint. The owner was later located at his residence in Stockholm and denied driving the vehicle, but was summonsed for non-moving motor vehicle violations.

1/31 – Tr. Clark stopped a vehicle in Mars Hill for no front plate and an obstructed rear plate. Upon approaching the vehicle he was able to detect the odor of marijuana. A useable amount of marijuana was located and the 20 year old female was summonsed.

1/31 - Tr. Flynn located and stopped a stolen vehicle out of Presque Isle on the High Meadow Rd in Perham. The operator was arrested and the vehicle recovered.

1/31 – Tr. Clark investigated a three vehicle personal injury crash at the intersection of the State Rd. and Hale Rd. in Mapleton. An 18 year old operator failed to yield to an approaching vehicle. After the initial impact, the second vehicle continued on and struck the third vehicle. A female passenger from one of the vehicles was transported to TAMC with non-life threatening injuries.

1/31 – Tr. Ferland stopped a vehicle for an expired inspection. The female operator admitted she was under suspension. She was summonsed for both offenses.

1/31 – Tr. Ferland responded to Southern Aroostook Community High School where school staff had a 16 year old student in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Tr. Ferland summonsed the student. The student’s parent was called to come to the school.

2/1 - Tr. Flynn investigated a credit card theft in Mars Hill. The suspect was identified by store surveillance while using the stolen card. The case remains under investigation.

2/05 - Tr. Flynn investigated a vandalism complaint in Nashville Plt. As a result a suspect was given a harassment warning due to past history with the company.

2/05 - Troopers Marquis, Casavant and Sgt. Haines assisted the Maine Warden Service in Allagash. As a result, State Police arrested a 50 year old Allagash man for violation of bail conditions.

2/05 - Tr. Michaud investigated the death of an 84 year old man in Madawaska Lake. He was discovered on the bathroom floor by his 88 year old wife. The man had several health issues and there was nothing suspicious surrounding his passing. The couple had been married for 56 years.

2/05 - Tr. Ferland stopped a tractor trailer truck for operating in the middle of the road. The operator was a 50-year-old male from Crystal. Tr. Ferland observed that the male driver was nervous on his initial approach. After returning the license, registration, proof of insurance, and a written warning, Tr. Ferland asked the driver if he could search the truck. During the search, Tr. Ferland located a marijuana pipe with unsmoked marijuana. The Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit was called and responded on scene. The truck was put out of service. Sgt. Fuller and K-9 Gleni arrived on scene and searched the truck further. Sgt. Fuller located more paraphernalia the driver admitted was used to hold marijuana.

2/06 - Tr. Flynn responded to the Pulcifer Rd in Mapleton for a report of a suicidal woman who sent her ex-boyfriend text messages saying she overdosed on pills and was going to cut her wrists. Tr. Flynn located the woman and she denied sending the messages or being suicidal.

2/08 - Tr. Saucier responded to a property damage accident on the Benedicta Rd in Sherman. The operator of the vehicle, a 19 year old Houlton woman, was found to have previously consumed alcohol and was taken to Houlton for a test. Several interviews of friends revealed an underage party the night before in Patten. Tr. Saucier located the Stacyville home owner and arrested the 24 year old man for furnishing a place for minors to consume.

2/08 - Tr. Saucier assisted the New Hampshire State Police with an interview reference to an assault complaint.

2/08 - Tr. Casavant along Sergeants Haines and Harris responded to Mars Hill for a suicidal 15 year old female. The female sustained a self-inflicted injury to her wrist and was voluntarily transported by Crown Ambulance to TAMC.

 

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. In addition, the Troop patrols Interstate 95 from Sherman to the Canadian border in Houlton.
