Maine State Police – Troop F’s weekly incident report…

4/22 - Tr. Bell and Tr. Clark stopped on Route 1 in Orient to assist a motorist. The operator’s SUV had blown its engine while towing an enclosed cargo trailer up a hill. After speaking with the operator and checking the registrations for the vehicle and trailer, it was discovered that the operator had attached false plates to the trailer. Tr. Bell summonsed the operator for Attaching False Plates.

4/22 - Tr. Levesque responded to Eagle Lake after 9 yr. old reported that someone had come to the house and tried to steal his mother’s car, both parents were not home at the time. There was damage to the garage door where the vehicle had been backed into the door. Tr. Levesque was assisted by Tr. Hafford as an ERT and during investigation, several inconsistencies were found in the child’s story and it appears that child had been the one that moved the vehicle and made up the story to get out of trouble and the incident did not occur.

4/23 - Tr. Levesque received information from Trooper in Troop D of a male subject that was wanted on a warrant that was in the St. Francis area. Tr. Levesque located the subject and arrested him without incident on a warrant for probation revocation.

4/23 - Tr. Ferland stopped a motor vehicle in Mars Hill because it did not have an inspection sticker displayed. The operator had an expired license. The female passenger was acting suspicious during the stop. The operator was summonsed for operating without an inspection sticker and operating with an expired license. Tr. Ferland issued the operator a permit to return to his residence. After further investigation, Tr. Ferland determined that the female had given the wrong date of birth and a nickname. The female passenger had an active arrest warrant and she was arrested.

4/23 - Tr. Monahan received information on a male subject wanted on a warrant for contempt of court. Tr. Monahan made contact with the subject and he agreed to meet her at the ACJ to turn himself in on the warrant. Male was arrested without incident.

4/24 - Tr. Flynn was called out to assist PIPD with a crash reconstruction on a serious injury crash on Route 1.

4/24 - Tr. Flynn investigated a report of a female in Mapleton with a fetus frozen in her freezer causing an argument when her boyfriend threatened to throw the fetus in the trash. Tr. Flynn’s investigation confirmed the female had a miscarriage recently and confirmed with medical personnel at TAMC she was given the remains and planned to bury them later in the spring. DHHS was notified as the woman appears to be suffering from depression as a result of the loss of her baby and lack of support from her family and friends.

4/25 - Tr. Marquis was called to a residence on Donworth St in Stockholm for a family fight. The investigation revealed that six adult family members were arguing at the residence over civil issues. The argument turned heated and several people were allegedly pushing each other. None of the parties were overly cooperative, but gave statements that contradicted each other and did not support charges. All parties were served trespass notices and cease harassment notices.

4/25 – Tr. Quint assisted Caribou Police Department with arresting a Caribou man after he fled from a Caribou Police Officer. Tr. Quint located the man hiding in a closet of an apartment at a retirement community. Information gathered during this incident resulted in the recovery of a stolen snowmobile that is Trooper Hafford’s case. Sgt. Fuller and Tr. Quint were able to locate the stolen sled at a storage facility in Mapleton.

4/25 - Tr. Flynn received a traffic complaint coming South on Route 1 near Mars Hill. Deputy Mitch Wheeler stopped the car first and Tr. Flynn arrived shortly after. As a result of the stop the operator was charged with possession of marijuana.

4/25 - Troopers Casavant and Doody arrested a Linneus woman for possession of scheduled drugs stemming from a traffic stop in Hodgdon.

4/26 - Tr. Whalen responded to EOD call in Littleton. Family member found several sticks of old dynamite stored in a barn that were many years old and remnants of when grandfather did his own blasting on the farm. Dynamite was destroyed without incident.

4-26 - Tr. Levesque and ASO Deputy responded to family fight in Mapleton. Female reported that male had a gun and made threats, after investigation with other occupants of house it was discovered that female was likely having medical issue and incident did not occur.

4/27 - Troopers Casavant and Monahan assisted Ashland PD with two separate OUI related crashes allegedly coming from a large party. Sgt. Fuller was called to track one operator who fled the scene. Two juveniles were charged by Troopers with possession of alcohol by a minor.

4/27 – Tr. Doody arrested a Houlton man for Violation of Conditions of Release.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. In addition, the Troop patrols Interstate 95 from Sherman to the Canadian border in Houlton.
