Maine State Police – Troop F’s weekly incident report…

07/29 – Tr. Clark responded to an unattended death of a 47 year old male found lying face down in the bathroom of his camp in Mars Hill. The man was not under a doctor’s care and the Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy in Augusta. Nothing suspicious was noted at the scene. Tr. Clark was assisted by Sgt. Fuller and Tr. Quint.

07/29 - Tr. Hafford responded to Eagle Lake for a reported theft of electricity from Maine Public Service. Tr. Hafford met with a representative for Maine Public who stated that the electric meter had been disconnected for nonpayment on July 23rd and the meter had since been tampered with and 207 kilowatt hours had been used since. The house was abandoned and the homeowner has moved. Tr. Hafford is still following leads on locating the suspect.

07/29 - Troopers Flynn and Hafford responded to a domestic dispute in Castle Hill. A mutual shoving match occurred during an argument and neither party was injured or willing to cooperate with the investigation. The parties were separated for the night. Maine pre-trial and the DA’s office will be reviewing the case.

07/29 - Tr. Marquis investigated a theft of medication in St. John Plantation from a 66 year old female. As a result of the investigation Tr. Marquis arrested a 58 year old family member for taking the medication from her aunt.

07/30 - Tr. Casavant attended the four-day REID Interview/Interrogation School.

07/30 - Troopers Flynn and Levesque investigated a domestic assault in Chapman. As a result, a 45 year old Chapman man was arrested for throwing his girlfriend through a window. The victim received medical attention at TAMC.

07/31 – Tr. Lilley and Sgt. Harris responded to a family fight in Crystal. It was reported that father and his adult daughter were fighting. Investigation revealed that daughter was intoxicated and became upset when father was dumping out her half gallon of alcohol. Father also had to remove another male subject that was at the residence and no longer welcome. Daughter is an alcoholic and father has been trying to get her to stop drinking. No assault or crime.

08/01 – Sgt. Fuller assisted Millinocket PD with a K9 track after they had a high speed chase. Gleni tracked from the scene down side streets and to a residence where one of the suspects lived. The track ended there. The suspect was later apprehended at his residence.

08/02 - Tr. Hafford assisted Fort Kent PD with locating a teenage runaway. Information indicated the teenager was heading to Bangor in a white Nissan and Tr. Hafford was able to locate the vehicle approximately 20 miles south of Fort Kent and he brought the teenager back to Fort Kent.

08/03 - Troopers Flynn and Sylvia investigated a family fight in Chapman between a mother and daughter. The daughter was heavily intoxicated and the mother wanted her removed from the residence. A second complaint was filed by a Presque Isle taxi driver when the daughter refused to pay him for driving her to Chapman. As a result the 44 year old female was arrested for theft and violation of bail.

08/03 - Tr. Sylvia received a report of domestic assault in Portage from the previous evening, but both parties had already returned to Southern Maine. Tr. Sylvia coordinated with Troop A Troopers to interview both parties. The male suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault for strangling his spouse.

08/03 - Troopers Flynn and Sylvia, along with Sgt. Haines responded to a rolling family fight on Route 1 in Westfield. The couple was having a verbal argument after a night of drinking at a wedding reception and the male got out of the car to walk home. The investigation showed the argument was verbal only and the male was given a ride to his mothers in Blaine for the night.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. In addition, the Troop patrols Interstate 95 from Sherman to the Canadian border in Houlton.

More From
