Teen Charged in Stabbing in Oromocto, N.B.

The RCMP has arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a reported stabbing late Tuesday night at Anniversary Park in Oromocto.

The teen appeared in Burton Youth Court on Wednesday and was charged with aggravated assault and uttering threats to cause death, according to Constable Derek Black of the Oromocto Detachment.

Investigators said another 16-year-old boy was injured in the attack shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and was treated at Oromocto Public Hospital and later released.

The suspect in the alleged stabbing was remanded to the New Brunswick Youth Center until his next court appearance on Monday, March 16.

The investigation continues.
