Senator-Elect Angus King Arrives in Washington, D.C.

Senator-elect Angus King left for Washington, D.C. on Sunday to begin a series of meetings with both the Republican and the Democratic parties. King still hasn’t announced which party he will support for the next six years.

Though experts continue to speculate that Angus will support the Democratic party, Angus, himself has vowed to work with both parties for the next two weeks before deciding which party will get his vote. However, a political insider said that Sen. Harry Reid (D) has already reached out to King.

King said that he will make his announcement after Thanksgiving Day. For now the senator-elect is focusing on spending a productive week at the capitol.

According to King’s camp regardless of which party the senator ends up supporting, he plans on voting with his conscience first.
