Police were called to the home on the South Johnville Road around 9 o'clock Friday night after a man barricaded himself inside the house,  according to RCMP Constable Jullie Rogers-Marsh. Negotiators talked to the man throughout the night.

At around 5 a.m. Saturday, two nearby sheds caught on fire and then spread to the house, which was destroyed, Rogers-Marsh said.

Police were initially unable to locate the occupant and issued a public plea in the event he had fled the home. RCMP say the body of 45-year-old Anthony 'Tony' Armour was located outside the home at around 10:30 Saturday morning. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Two others who lived in the home in Johnville--a woman in her 60s and her adult son--were displaced by the fire and are staying with relatives.
