According to the RCMP, a 33-year old man has been charged with drug trafficking which followed a seizure by the West District RCMP, in Carleton County, N.B.

The reports stated that on Saturday, May 6 right around 1:30 a.m., police stopped a car on Highway 2 near Waterville.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of substantial quantities of what they believe is to be cocaine, methamphetamine, hashish, and steroids.

Maxime Thifault of Montréal, Q.C, has been charged with four counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of drugs.

The RCMP says that Thifault has been remanded in custody, pending a bail hearing on May 31. The investigation continues.
