A 23-year-old Presque Isle man was sentenced Thursday to close to 4 years in prison in connection with a fight that left a man dead.

A jury in Superior Court in Caribou last month found Jonathan Limary guilty of manslaughter and aggravated assault.

Forty-four-year-old Jean C. Bragdon of Caribou was injured in a fight with Limary in a parking lot on October 30, 2017. Bragdon was hospitalized and died 18 days later due to post-surgery complications.

During the trial, Limary said he kicked Bragdon in the face because he was concerned for himself and his friends' safety.

At his sentencing Thursday, Limary apologized to Bragdon's family. He is free on bail pending the appeal of his conviction.
