A 33-year-old woman was sentenced to five years in prison for drug trafficking meth and money laundering in Maine.

61 Months in Prison for Drug Trafficking

Jenna Garniss was given 61 months by U.S. District Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. She will also have three years of supervised release. 

Woman Pleaded Guilty to Charges

Garniss pleaded guilty on June 27, 2025 to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, distribution of  methamphetamine, and conspiracy to engage in money laundering.

Pounds of Meth Sent to Maine

Pounds of meth were shipped to Hancock County, Maine between 2022 and 2023, according to court documents.

Drugs Supplied by Out of State Source

The drugs were supplied by a co-conspirator in California, Codee Houston, and arranged to be sent to Maine by co-conspirator, Alex Hanna.

Drugs Distributed in Maine and Money Wired and Laundered

“Garniss and others in the Ellsworth area distributed the drug and returned drug proceeds to Hanna. Garniss, at Hanna’s direction, wired some of the funds to Houston, resulting in the money laundering charge,” according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Co-Conspirators Sentenced to Prison

Alex Hanna was sentenced to 11.5 years in prison on March 6, 2025. Codee Houston was sentenced to 14 years in prison on October 10, 2025.

Multiple Agencies Involved in the Investigation

The lead investigators in the case included the FBI, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Ellsworth Police Department, the Holden Police Department, and the Bangor Police Department.
