A new program has been launched at the Presque Isle Farmers' Market at Riverside called Maine Harvest Bucks. The new program hopes to help families eat better.

Maine Harvest Bucks is a program that doubles the value of people's dollars when they shop with SNAP/ EBT at the farmer's market.

According to Market Manager Deena Albert Parks,

"For every SNAP/ EBT dollar a shopper spends at our market, we will give them an additional matching 'buck' to spend on fruits and vegetables with our famers."

The Farmers' Market in Presque Isle isn't the only venue helping SNAP/ EBT customers to accrue 'harvest bucks'.  There is a growing list of farmers' markets across the Pine Tree State doing the same thing.

The Presque Isle Farmers' Market at Riverside operates every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m under the Pavilion at 19 Riverside Drive in Presque Isle.
