Possible Tornado in Fort Kent Area
The National Weather Service Office in Caribou is investigating after reports of a possible tornado touching down in Fort Kent over the weekend.
Denise Corriveau was able to catch it all on video from her home in Wallagrass, about 1 1/2 mile north of the Soldier Pond turnoff on Route 11.
The video of a funnel cloud/possible tornado was taken around 6 p.m. Sunday evening
The Weather Service will be assessing the video. They do say though, that it is hard to tell if it actually caused tree damage. It is in an area a bit off the main road.
The radar did show a shower in the area, with no thunder. There was some very weak rotation on the radar, but very unimpressive. The radar is sampling about 8,000 feet above ground in this area.
