One person died Sunday morning after being hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Big Apple Convenience Store on Main Street in Waterville.

Vehicle Crashed into a Car Parked at the Gas Pumps of Convenience Store

The Waterville Police Department said a vehicle traveling on Main Street lost control, left the road, collided with a parked vehicle at the gas pump.

Pedestrian was Hit by Vehicle and Died

A pedestrian was hit and died. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

First Responders Included Local Police and Fire - Rescue Department

Officers from the Waterville Police Department and crews from Waterville Fire - Rescue responded to the site of the crash at 364 Main Street around 11:20 am.

The Maine State Police Assisting at the Scene

The investigation remains open and is ongoing. Assisting were Troopers with the Maine State Police.

Names and ages were not released until next of kin can be notified.

Main Street Closed in the Area and Reopened Later

Maine Street in the area was shut down for crash reconstruction and processing the site. The road was reopened later.
