Patriots Trade For Cooks, Give Up Draft Pick [VIDEO]
The super aggressive New England Patriots have traded for New Orleans WR Brandin Cooks and they do not even have to give up Malcolm Butler in the deal.
The Patriots will give up their 2017 first round draft pick, the #32 pick. The Pats will swap their 3rd round pick in exchange for the Saints 4th round pick.
There was speculation that CB Malcolm Butler would be part of the trade but that did not happen.
The 23-year-old Cooks is coming off back-to-back 1,100 yard seasons and totaled 17 TDs.
He is owed a $781,000 roster bonus on Monday. The Patriots are responsible for that now. His salary for next year is $1.56 million.
NOTE: ESPN is reporting that TE Martellus Bennett is going to sign a free agent deal with the Green Bay Packers
