U.S. District Judge Kevin McNulty agreed with state lawyers that Christie and state health officials are immune from the federal civil rights charges brought by Kaci Hickox, who lives in Oregon.

The judge ruled in a decision published last week Hickox can proceed with parts of her lawsuit alleging false imprisonment and invasion of privacy.

Hickox was working in Sierra Leone during the deadly Ebola outbreak in 2014. She was questioned when she arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport and was quarantined. She tested negative for Ebola and was allowed to come to Maine, where she lived in Fort Kent for a time.

Her lawsuit seeks at least $250,000.
